Character Name: Isobel Connor
PB: Alexis Bledel
Age: 21
Gender: female
Birth Place: Michigan
Species: Human
Category: Original character, Twilight ‘verse
Sexual Orientation: straight
Family: mother, Victoria, and father, Richard, are back in Michigan

Physical Description: Isobel is tall and lanky, with a face that screams innocence. Her skin is very pale and her large, glittery eyes are her most striking feature. As for her clothing style, she tends to lean towards girly and neat/preppy clothing.
Eye Color: blue
Hair Color: long, wavy, brown
Height: 5’7”
Weight: 125 lbs
Scars: none
Piercings: ears
Tattoos: none

Personality: Isobel is a strong individual who strives to complete tasks on her own. She loves to experience new things, to take on new adventures whenever it is possible. She can be extremely stubborn and a bit secretive about her history. Isobel also loves to read and to learn, wanting to understand everything about the world around her.
Quirks/Traits: Isobel has a bad habit of saying things before thinking about them. This often leads to awkward moments.
Likes: reading, poetry, traveling, listening to (soft) music, going to school (yes, she’s a geek)
Dislikes: migraines, shots, anyone who tries to tell her she can’t achieve something
Obsessions: knowledge and exploration
Friends: none in Sunnydale; back home, her best friend is Anna, someone she has known since grade school
Enemies: none
Love Interest: none
Pets: none

History: Isobel grew up in a small town in Michigan. Her love for knowledge began at a young age, as her mother taught her to read when she was three years old. By the time she was in kindergarten, she was reading anything she could get her hands on. Also at a young age, Isobel began to get severe migraines. Her parents took her to the best doctors they could find but, ultimately, there was no cure for them. She just had to take meds and live her life as normally as she could.

In high school, Isobel was a bit of a loner, something that didn’t bother her a bit. She appreciated having a few close friends and working at the library after school. She had a nice, quiet, simple life. However, after graduating from high school, Isobel’s migraines got worse. She often found herself throwing up or in a ball on the floor due to the pain. She told no one about it, wanting to deal with it on her own.

The severity of her migraines greatly altered her plans for post-graduation life. She had always counted on going straight to college, but her illness made her question that. She knew eventually the migraines were going to kill her, and she wanted to see the world while she had the chance. So she took time off and traveled the world, telling her parents she just wanted a chance to let the world be her teacher for a while.

Currently, Isobel is back in the states and heading to Sunnydale for college. She wants to stay away from her home town, to keep her parents in the dark about what is really going on with her. She just wants to keep living as normal of a life as possible, and she figures the best way to do this is to go to college just like everyone else her age.

Talents: Isobel can speed read like no one’s business and she has a great memory.
Strengths: inner strength and individuality
Weaknesses: Due to her migraines, she often wears sunglasses because the sun hurts her eyes. She also can’t really be in places with a lot of smoke or loud noises. And, in general, her daily plans are often hindered by migraine attacks.
Long-Term Goals: Isobel doesn’t really have any long term goals as she isn’t sure how much “long-term” she has left.
Short Term Goals: She wants to graduate college.
Other things you feel are relevant: Nothing :)

What your character thinks of those they’ve met: n/a

Who your character would like to meet: other people from the Twilight ‘verse, of course

Writing sample: Isobel opened the door to her new apartment and stepped inside, dropping her bags on the floor. It was exactly what she was expecting. Small, unkempt---pretty much the definition of college living. And she loved it. It was exactly what she wanted to experience while she was in Sunnydale.

After taking a peek at the bathroom and the bedroom, Isobel began to unpack her bags. She opened a large, forest green duffel to see a framed picture of her and her parents laying at the top of the heap. She slowly took the picture out of the bag, holding it gently. She set it down on the rickety coffee table and then sat down on the couch across from it, just staring at the picture.

She wouldn’t be here if they knew. If they knew about all of the problems she was having, if they knew about what the doctor had told her at her last visit… They would’ve never let her go to Sunnydale for college, or anywhere for that matter. They would’ve wanted her to stay in Michigan, to continue going to one doctor after another and to try a billion new medications. No, thank you. She wanted to live. She wanted to go to college and to continue soaking up all of the information around her…

After a few moments, Isobel picked up the picture and walked out of the living/kitchen area. She walked into her bedroom and placed the picture in a desk drawer, hoping that one day soon she would be able to look at it and not feel so guilty.
